Did you know that the average person has more then 200 negative thoughts a day. You probably just thought it
was some normal thing for you and never thought of it as being something that everyone goes through everyday. The thoughts that go through peoples minds are worries, jealousies, insecurities, cravings for forbidden things and so on. People who are depressed have can have as many as 600 negative thoughts a day. That would really take up a lot of energy. You can not eliminate all the negative things that run through your mind but you can definitely lesson them if you put some time into it.
When a negative thought begins to surface, stop whatever it is you are doing at the moment and take some deep breathes. Slowly breathe in and out to clear your mind. When you take in more oxygen this helps to lower your level of anxiety. Talking is another good thing to do. Call someone up and say a quick hello just to see how they are doing.
Concentrate on pleasant thoughts. Think of things that relax you, like a walk on the beach or a stroll in a beautiful park filled with lots of flowers. The more troublesome the thought the more time you need to put into controlling your feelings and negative vibes. The more you use these techniques the more you will find it easier and easier to rid the negative thoughts which lead to more pleasant days and all in all a much happier life.
