Why do toddlers throw temper tantrums?

Everyone should know that temper tantrums are a part of the process by which toddlers declare their
individuality. All children go through this stage and tends to be the most problematic when the child is tired.
A child’s temper tantrum is best handled by just walking away from them and ignoring the situation at hand. This will normally make the child get bored when he realizes that no one is paying attention to him. Do not rush to your child and smother him/her with affection. This might help you to feel better especially when you are in public but this will not help anything. Do not be so quick to blame yourself either, remember this is normally and they will grow out of it eventually.
Don’t threaten your child or spank them. The best thing to do is let the storm pass and try to put your child down for a nap. It is also best not to mention the incident later. Just drop it, forget about it and move on. If you are in public and not sure what to do, you can leave or take your child to the restroom until they calm down and are ready to go back out. Sometimes they just really need to be taken home and put down for a nap. They also could be hungry and a little food in their tummy goes a long way. Just remember it is a phase and you are not the only parent in the world that has to deal with this.
