If you are into sports at all, like I am and especially basketball then you would know that the Los Angeles Lakers are favored to win the next Championship which would make this three times in a row. There are many reasons for this other then they are the best team and Kobe Bryant is the man. But I will give you further details on the specifics of why they are favored.

The Los Angeles Lakers are favored to win their third consecutive NBA championship because they bring back there entire team from last season. The general manager, Mitch Kupchek has actually improved the roster from last season. New to the Los Angeles Lakers this season are, point guard Steve Blake, and small forward Matt Barnes. Both of these players are excellent on the defensive end of the floor. Matt Barnes in particular, has a history of playing tough defense on the LeBron James. Steve Blake is a natural fit for the triangle offense.

When you factor in that Phil Jackson is probably coaching his last season for any NBA team, the Lakers will be fully motivated to give Phil his twelfth overall championship, fourth three peat, and the most championships in NBA history out doing the Boston Celtics Red Auerback. When Andrew Bynum comes back early in the season, the Lakers will have the best front court in basketball. The Lakers still have Kobe Bryant, the best basketball player in the world. Pau Gasol is widely considered the best overall big man in the game of basketball.

With the mid term elections having come and gone, we now know for certain what many have known for quite sometime. We are two years into Barack Obama’s first term of presidency. The United States voting electorate has rejected the extreme left turn that the modern day Democratic party has tried to inflict on the Nation. They have force fed policies and programs that the overall majority of United States citizens soundly reject. Because of this over reach by the European style socialists currently occupying the White House the Republican party, through no good doing of their own has reaped the power bestowed upon the House of Representatives.

In an astonishing two years Barack Obama has squandered overwhelming popularity to become one of the most controversial figures in American history. Although he had a record of being one of the most leftist United States senators of all time, the ignorant American people are surprised by his leftist policies. It appears the otherwise ignorant and or preoccupied voting populace has seen enough of this new branded version of a failed socialist direction. The economy has left far too many people short on the opportunities that have once seemed common place. America’s elite on the other hand have increased their wealth exponentially. This shows the hypocrisy of leftist politics. Instead of evening the playing field for the common man. The economically elite are as powerful and corrupt in a way that is new and invigorating to them.

The San Diego Chargers have won their devision, for many consecutive seasons in a row. Each and every season it seems that they get off to a slow start. This season many have felt that the Chargers first one third of their season would be very easy. Instead they are off to an inexcusably slow start with a three and five record.

All this, the five games lost are a result of rarely seen football gaffes particularly on the part of the special teams unit. Adding to the absurdity of this seasons results are the facts that the San Diego Chargers lead the NFL in total offense and scoring defense. This shows that general manager, AJ Smith has indeed put together a team with enough talent to make a run at a Super bowl. The problem has been a lack in competency of the inexperienced special teams players. A glaring omission from this seasons Chargers roster is that of Kasim Osgood who was a multiple time selection to the special teams unit of the AFC pro bowl team.

Whether it has been blocked punts, or inexcusable fumbles, or missed field goals, or kick off returns for touch downs, the Chargers have shot themselves in the foot time and again this season. They have out gained almost every opponent they have played this season. They are clearly much better then their record currently reflects. They have a history of reeling off long winning streaks at the end of a football season.

Martha Stewart went to jail for lying to the court in 2001 about having prior knowledge that the price of a stock she owned was going to fall. This knowledge is called insider trading. She spent 5 months in jail and was released on 2 years probation. After release, she was required to spend 5 more months on house arrest, where she could not leave her own home. A fine of $30,000 was also instituted.

The stock that Martha Stewart owned and sold on December 27, 2001 — the day before its price fell — was from a company called ImClone. ImClone Systems is a biopharmaceutical company. The main drive of their research and production is cancer medications.

Throughout the investigation and subsequent sentencing, Stewart maintained her innocence. In an interview she did with Barbara Walters, Stewart claimed her innocence and stated, “I didn’t cheat the little people. We’re all little people. I didn’t cheat anybody out of anything.”

Peter Bancovic, Stewart’s former stock broker, was accused of telling Stewart that the stock owned by ImClone’s CEO was being sold off prior to the FDA’s expected ruling on the company’s newest cancer drug. It looked as if ImClone’s CEO expected a bad report on the drug, and was selling off his own shares to avoid financial loss. In point of fact, many of the company’s executives sold off their shares just prior to the FDA’s ruling.

When a new drug is created and preliminary clinical tests are completed, the FDA is required to give a ruling on the approval or disproval of the drug. In late 2001, ImClone’s newest cancer drug, Erbitux, was not expected to receive the FDA’s approval. The date of the FDA’s announcement was set for December 28, 2001.

Martha Stewart sold off about $230,000 worth of ImClone’s stock on December 27, 2001. If Bancovic actually told Stewart about this event, then he was guilty of insider trading. Stewart’s sale of her stock on December 27, 2001, incriminated her as also guilty of this federal crime. The court found Stewart and Bancovic guilty and that’s why Martha Stewart went to jail, after she was sentenced on July 16, 2004.

The legal battle took over 2 years to find resolution. As a result, when Martha Stewart went to jail, she had to give up her multimedia empire. In an interview given after sentencing, she said, “Many, many people have suffered. People have lost jobs. I am very saddened and very, very sorry for that.” She also stated, “There are certain people who I wish I’d never met. I have lost my job. I have lost my position in my company. I am no longer the CEO of Martha Stewart Omnimedia. That makes me angry and sad.”

In 2004, a partner company of ImClone’s set new clinical trials for the cancer drug and Erbitux was eventually approved by the FDA for use as a colon cancer drug. Since the Stewart scandal on 2001, ImClone was bought out by Eli Lilly Company, another biopharmaceutical company. I hope you now see why Martha Stewart went to jail.

It’s simple really, I wanted to have a very easy name for people to remember. At the same time I didn’t want to spend a large amount of money buying a domain name. 2. November 2007 the last four letter domain name was registered, so I knew I would have to choose at least a five letter domain name.

I wanted to have the word “why “in the domain name, as explaining people why is what whyld is all about. Most five letter domains containing the very common word “why” were already taken when I came up with the idea for this website, and whyld was simply the best sounding one left out there. I am quite happy with whyld.com to be honest, and I hope you as a reader will enjoy the content here.
